SPECIALISTS IN GUNITING
Guniting projects
We carry out wet-mix guniting work for swimming pools, micropiles, tunnels, water tanks, slopes, retaining walls. It is a recommended method not only for its fast execution but also for its guaranteed watertightness.
The guniting technique is a construction system that consists of spraying concrete (a mixture of sand, cement, water, and crushed rock, stone, or gravel) through a high-pressure hose or nozzle. This method allows construction on virtually any type of surface, including soil, to create a continuous wall with greater strength and reduced thickness. It is designed to withstand and retain the pressure exerted by the ground at any slope, providing optimal waterproofing thanks to its low porosity.
In some countries, this technique is also known as sprayed concrete or simply spraying. It may consist only of spraying cement without aggregate. In English, it is also referred to as build-up, meaning layered shotcrete (or layered spraying), which involves applying shotcrete in successive layers to form a thicker mass. (Build-up can also refer to the residual accumulation of hardened concrete inside a mixer).
One of the advantages of this technique is its higher strength per square meter — that is, it provides greater resistance and durability using less material. It also enhances the firmness of the structure being shotcreted with cement, resulting in a compact and solid layer.
This technique can be used to coat ravines and prevent the risk of potential landslides, offering a level of durability that requires minimal maintenance.
Guniting has revolutionized the world of swimming pool construction, as it provides not only total waterproofing but also optimal watertightness of the pool basin due to the reduced porosity of its walls.
Thanks to the versatility of this technique, it is possible to build swimming pools with original designs, even with shapes that are difficult for traditional methods, achieving excellent finishes.
